Fontane's Mighty Underworld

The "Effi in the Underworld" final rehearsals are in full swing. On Friday, August 23, 2019, at 7.30 p.m. the premiere will take place.

In his play Frank Matthus creates a magical work in which the cruel past of humanity meets the present. All of Theodor Fontane's women's novel characters are told and sung on the occasion of his 200th birthday in a gigantic setting on the school square in Neuruppin, near Berlin. The spectacle goes beyond all boundaries of shame and secrecy, which rule over the suffering of femininity up to the present day. A piece that gets under your skin and touches you deeply!
